The story we tell ourselves about our partner impacts our desire of how we show up in the relationship. Mindset is impactful! This story sometimes shifts from the version we all start with in the beginning of the relationship. Being aware of the story and how to intentionally shift those stories, allows us the ability to shift our desires and intentions in the part of the relationship that we have power over…ourselves. You will find ways to do this in this module.

All healthy couples have an ability to reach for one another in times when things don’t seem right in the relationship. This need is a neurobiological wired desire to restore safety and security in the relationship when uncertain. How a couple does this can either deepen connection by providing avenues of establishing certainty again, creating problem solving as a team, or having healing conversations from pain points. If not, this protest system can be symptomatic to relationship dissatisfaction and the erosion of intimacy in the relationship.

The dance that couples do in the fight cycle of communication looks very much the same no matter what the triggering event or circumstance. Learning how this all comes together in your unique cycle allows you to see it more quickly in the moment and have the ability to understand the dance moves of yourself and your partner better. Tackling the cycle as a team, rather than opposing each other, allows success in making shifts in the dance.

How we respond to one another in the moment of protest and duress is key to creating the connect cycle of communication and repairing a problematic protest fight cycle. This module will take you through strategic, intentional and practical ways to respond to one another in these moments. This is called The Catch Method.

It takes time for this new connect cycle approach to become organically natural. This module helps you address the roadblocks that can happen along the way with practical approaches of what to do when you find yourself stuck.
